So, it can shoot electronically or manually.  My son likes the option to shoot electronically to make it easier on him.  However, both work well.  Secondly, the gun has a safety built in.  We practice gun safety, even on play guns, so I think it is a great option to have.  Lastly, the toy gun can be assembled into many different shapes with or without attachments.  We don't typically buy too many nerf style guns, because our son tends to get bored with them fairly quickly and they all do pretty much the same thing. It's an AEB (automatic electronic blaster) which is a type of full auto blaster that uses a plunger rather than a flywheel, improving accuracy significantly and decreasing variability. The fire rate is pretty good, and it uses shells which means your darts won't get too deformed in the cartridge but you will need to clean up shells afterwards to reload it or put all the mess away. You'll want extra shells!
