For the price, these sets offer the same fun and ease of assembly as the traditional brands for half the price! And you can race other brands cars on the track... Assembly is easy, a bit tight on the first go, but the electrical contact is fail-proof.  The corners are a lot tighter than the old school sets, but these can be set up on a large coffee table for a fun evening racing with the kids. The cars are very durable, the plastic bodies and chassis will hold up well in rough races and flying off the track. The controllers work well, even if the speed is a bit higher at the lowest notch up. The sets can be added on to other sets of the same design. Once it's together it's a solid track and the cars can really zip around.  Three loops, tight curves and a narrow stretch make racing actually fun and you can get in 15-20laps in a good race.  The cars have a woven wire connectors that drags along the metal track to get power.  When they work its perfect, if you have a fly-off you may need to make sure they don't touch each other or the car won't go.  My kids can fix this on their own fast enough they don't even stop the race so it's not a big deal.  They have also figured out that if you don't connect all the loops you have a ramp and these cars go fast enough they can get 5-6ft off the track which is a game in itself.  So far we're on day five of having this setup and it's been a good out a day of play time so that a win for me!", "profile_name": "K. In theory, it's easy to set up because the track just snaps together in place. As long as you space out the loops correctly (spelled out in the directions clearly,) the rest makes sense and is intuitive. I love that there's the option to plug it into the wall OR use batteries. We are always running out of batteries, and I love love love the corded option. I'm not actually sure what the littler paw-shaped remote is for; there are two regular remotes as well and that's what we use. Comes with spare tires, and you'll find out quickly why! The cars somehow manage to need the tires replaced pretty often and easily. But it is a simple and quick job to replace the tires. The track locks in together pretty well, and the lights show you when there's a electrical current interruption by either lighting up incompletely or not lighting up at all. The cars have wire threading on the bottoms just like bumper cars at amusement parks have wire threading into an electrical grid on the ceiling. You do need the guard rails if you're using full speed, or else the cars WILL fly off the track. Sometimes they manage to anyway, but they stay on the track during loops remarkably well.", "profile_name": "K. M.
