This AGM MASTECH set sells for half the price and is at least twice as good. All the components are of higher quality, and everything works as advertised. The track fits together easily. The cars adhere to the track, only flying off at the highest speeds. I chose not to use the loops. I was interested in if the track could be laid out in a more realistic configuration. It could. I found no difference between plugging into a wall-outlet or using the battery box (8 AAs). The two hand-held controllers have compartments for 2 AAs, but there are no terminals. I don't know their purpose. Controlling vehicle speed is difficult. The speed-level switch seems to have little impact. Don't expect to see the details of a car in motion. They are almost a blur. The available speeds are very fast, extremely fast and, when using the booster button, take-off-speed. Watching, my dog's head was on a constant swivel. The cars stop with air-bag suddenness. That anything stays of the track is amazing. The whole thing is a blast. I'm looking forward to some serious competition when my grandson next visits. A final note, when running two cars on the same track, the police cars aren't quite as fast. The cars fly around the track, the loops are awesome, the remotes are perfectly sized to fit in your hands. The instructions aren't very clear, the turn right after the final loop makes the cars fly off the track but they're very easy to put back on, the adjustable speed helps once you figure it out. The paw button and boost are basically useless, but would be amazing if they didn't make it so difficult to stay on the track. I love that it comes with 4 cars so you can pick which color you want to race each time.
