I had never seen one before - his dad worked at toy companies and he had the coolest ones.  We had a blast, so when I spotted this set, I remembered how much fun we had and thought my grandson (5 1/2) would really get a kick out of it.  It does not disappoint!  It went together easily and everything was very intuitive for him to play with it.  The hardest part was keeping his 18 month old sister from bugging him - we had to find her an equally cool toy lol. The boys had fun with this, it functioned as it described for about an hour and then they were moving it around too much and having a younger sibling/cousin and puppy around didn\u2019t help at all. The track assembled very easily, unfortunately it also came apart easily, the copper pieces that are inserted into the cars to keep them on the tracks come out surprisingly easy and the rubber tires band comes off, not safe for the little ones. They give you extra pieces to replace them if they get damaged or go missing, which was happening quite a bit due to the boys leaving the cars unattended and in reach of the toddler and puppy. The side rails were a little flimsy and we had a hard time keeping them in place. I eventually had to pick it all up so that the \u201clittle ones\u201d would not keep getting in to it and so that the boys wouldn\u2019t end up having it all lost or broken. They can take it back out when the puppy and toddler are a little older or not around to get into it. The loop the loop adds a lot of excitement! The controllers work well and are adjustable. The cars really fly on the #4 setting! I think this is a fun slot car set and it works really well. It has the option of battery power or using electricity. I think that makes it a really versatile set. Younger kids can use the battery power option. All the listed parts were included along with a simple manual. Assembly is super easy, but first time connecting track pieces together can be a little tight. One thing I really like though is the ability to use 8 AA batteries for the smaller kids, instead of the wallwart power supply. But, when the bigger 'kids' want to pay, it is just a simple unplug the battery box and plug in the power supply and off to race.
