I included a picture of the gun next to my son so you can see how long it is. He loves how the empty shells eject out of the gun as he is shooting it. I don't think this gun has ever jammed on him. The shells are bright orange which is nice because you will need to collect them to put your bullets into to shoot the gun again. This toy gun shoots pretty far and can sting when you are shot with it, however, my kids still love it! Even my 13 year old son likes to play with it. It is more suitable for target practice or being a sniper, rather than a foam dart gun battle because you cannot pick up any foam dart that someone shoots at you to reload. There is a scope and other accessories that can be put on or kept off. Overall my kids love this gun.
