The shotgun shell holder doesn't fit on the actual nerf gun so well together and work better if you're only using one of them. The nerf gun does load like a pretend shotgun and the shells eject after firing. Easy to operate and yes it is a shot gun style so you must pump it after each shot fired. The materials/ fit and finish are very nice and don't have the lightweight plastic feel. The blaster comes with shells for firing large darts as well as small darts. The small darts are a lot of fun, I wish they had included more of the mini shells for them, but they include plenty of the large dart ones. The blaster loads from the bottom after opening a flap. Then they load in like real life and you pump the fore end to get the dart to load and be ready to fire. After firing, working the pump ejects the empty dart shell and loads another. It's really a lot of fun to play with and can actually be used for some safety training. All in all, AGM really made a fun blaster, I believe they actually make some good airsoft blasters as well and used their expertise here.
