It has all the functions of a real Shot Gun. You have to load bullets into a Cartridge.  You can then load about 4 cartridges into the Magazine. Then you can Rack and Fire like a real Shot Gun. It makes it easy to practice and feel like a real marksman\u2026 it is cool to have the empty shells that you reload and we loved the holder for more shells on the side that you could do fast reloading with. Also, I love the multiple choices of bullets... you can use the more normal nerf type ones or smaller bullet looking ones. If you use the smaller bullet looking ones, they HURT when they hit someone else. Also very realistic. My son LOVED this gun upon his receiving it, and immediately figured out how make it all work. It was fun to load and see the ejections of the cartridges but it definitely leaves a noticeable impact.  Less dangerous than BB guns but still requires eye wear to be safe.  I also think it shouldn't be shot within 6 feet or so without thicker clothes and facial gear to be safe.
