It's pretty close to the real deal. It's well made and easy to assemble. The scope is basically just for show, realistically why would you even need a scope for the limited range of this anyway. It's fun to play around with and pretty much offers the same experience as far as functionality with the real thing. You get to make up your own rounds, and they discharge from the rifle just like the real thing. I keep a couple of toys like these around, and when my nephews come over, it keeps them occupied for quite a while. It comes with many spare darts and shell cartridges.  I just wish it came with a larger capacity magazine.  The included magazines can only hold 4 shells.  I guess that may be accurate for the type of gun they are trying to mimic, but the gun is so much fun that a larger magazine would allow less refills between shooting it.  I really love the cartridge ejecting mechanism.  Very satisfying to have the cartridge eject after pulling back on the bolt on the gun. It\u2019s not super high quality for sure like Nerf but it\u2019s also a fraction of the price. I know my son will enjoy this and have fun with it regardless. It comes in a well packaged box and everything was there. It does take a bit of assembly but I find that my 13 year old son wants it that way. He also likes genetics more than name brand because a lot of the generics you can mix and match things like scopes, hand guards, front reserves, or even some silencers.
