Loading the dart into the shell is a breeze (just ensure the suction plunger is fully inside the shell). You can load up to 5 shells into the blaster, even though it appears capable of holding more. However, the instructions recommend using 5 shells, and that's what I've been doing. Best gun I've ever had!\"  The assembly was super easy, and comes with a screwdriver to attach the two parts together and with good illustrated instructions.  This rifle comes with 40 soft, suction cup tipped darts and 20 shells.  The soft darts are inserted into the shells and upon firing, the shells are ejected just like a real gun.  Five shells can be inserted at one time.  The pump action operates smoothly.  There is also a safety on this rifle, which is great! No creaks or squeaks. The grip fits my large adult male hands. The overall length of the gun fits me perfectly when adjusted all the way out.
